Hi Screwed Up Texan...Happy 4th! You definitely have a lot of creative freedom when making soap...the only tricky part is the lye ingredient. You have to be very careful when dealing with it because it will burn. And it's cool that you can make your own bath and body products because you know what's going into them, and you know that they are a lot better for your skin than what you may buy at the store.
I am a happily married, soap making woman who has two stepchildren and two Siberian Huskies. I currently live in Colorado, where the climate is dry, and where handmade soap is definitely a must.

I've always wondered how to make soap...I made an awesome brown sugar scrub made with olive oil and violets from Toulouse, France. Love it so much!
Happy Independence Day!
